11:25 and I'm on my way out of Reno

I take route 80 east and that's going to be my day...

4:30 Pacific Time and I've hit Utah and Mountain Time, so...

5:30 Mountain Time and I'm in Utah....

It's just been a long driving day...nothing to exciting..

Once you enter Utah, everything just turns white....There's salt everywhere....so much salt...you can smell and taste it.

7pm Mountain time and I'm in Salt Lake City and it's 102 outside..

I check into the local motel 6 and walk around town.

I completely forgot about the Olympics being here until I saw this sign..

This town is so strange....so strange. beautiful but strange.  It's like aliens tried to duplicate a city but didn't get it exactly right.  It's so clean and people are so friendly.  But you have to look out for the people.  Not that they are going to hurt you or anything....They'll just preach to you.  I've seen many people carrying bibles.  Strange.  Now for anyone who hasn't been here, here's something.  The bars here are not called bars.  They're called clubs.  Now if you live here, you're good.  But if you don't you either have to get someone to vouch for you to join the club or pay a $5 membership fee that lasts 2 weeks.  Weird.  

Here's something I liked a lot.  On the busies intersections there are little holders filled with red flags.  If you don't feel safe crossing the street you can take a flag and wave it as you cross so no one hits you.  When you get to the other side, there's another holder to put your flag into.  Once again strange.  

I'm glad I was here just for the strange nature of it all....

By the way, I loved my bathroom in the hotel here...another strange thing

Anyway, I now have a decision to make...Should I go thru Colorado or go thru Wyoming and avoid Colorado and the fires...hmm...we'll find out tomorrow..

I've been listening to Jack Johnson for months now and today I finally hear it on the radio and see it on MTV

I saw a train today that was a 1 1/2 miles long...

I heard two stations in two different states play eruption into you really got me....that's strange..
