I hate starting to write anything. Now, I have that over with, I can begin. This is a weird day, because I'm not doing anything that haven't done before. As I told Bret, it's like leaving on a boat trip, but it takes a day to leave the harbor.... Woke up around 9am, loaded up the car, showered and got ready to go. I was out the door by 11am, but I still had errands to do. Drove to the Wiz, picked up some videotape and went to get a haircut. Drove to Eastchester to find out that I couldn't get a haircut today....Oh well......I guess, I'll start my trip early. So, 11:30am was when my Road Trip started.... Since today, I'll have nothing really interesting to talk about, I'll give as much useless information as possible. My first observation...wow, there are a lot of cops out everywhere today!!! I mean everywhere.... people were pulled over constantly till I arrived. Around 12:10pm, stopped at the Thomas Edison Rest Area to fill up my half empty tank. By the way, why does North Jersey and South Jersey smell so different. South Jersey smells like fresh cut grass, and North Jersey, well...it smells different. 1:30pm I arrive at the Delaware Bridge....1:50pm I arrive in Maryland.....Can you believe it only takes 20 minutes to drive thru Delaware. I come back to the police again...It's so bad, that they pulled over a Greyhound bus...wow, either that bus was going really fast or the cops were really bored. 2:15 and it's time to take a little rest break...so, I stop at the Maryland House. For no reason whatsoever, I always have loved the Maryland House rest stop....anyway.... 2:30 Get back on my way after eating a burger and calling my cousin, Rouzbeh, to see if we can hang tomorrow. 3pm I arrive at the Inner Harbor. I also now discover that I forgot to charge my camcorder....Oh well, I guess I need to buy a disposable camera. The Inner Harbor is beautiful. Just walked around the piers and checked out the ESPN Zone, The Hard Rock and Barnes and Noble (all happen to be located in an old power plant). Once I get my pictures developed, I will post them. Not to worry too much, my camcorder is now fully charged. 3:30pm get back in my car and drive a couple of blocks to Camden Yards...Got out and took some pictures....Let's get one thing straight....Yankee Stadium is the best stadium in the world, but this was nice. 4pm Day 1's goal is accomplished. I arrive at my good friends Amy & David Friedman's apt in Columbia, Maryland.....Amy is away but I'm going to hang with David.... . 7pm David and I went and got dinner at Michael's Pub, which has one of the most eclectic rock jukebox's I've heard (From Rainbow, to Billy Squier to the Pretenders and back to Alice in Chains) |
